Otto Luyken's Laurel PROO-nus lar-o-ser-A-sus
- Evergreen shrub, 5 ft (1.5 m) tall, spread of 10 ft (3 m), upright stems, compact. Leaves alternate, simple, 10 cm long about 2.5 cm wide, dark green, margin entire except for a few small teeth near the tip, point up and away from the stem. Buds green. Flowers heavily, but briefly, in spring or summer. Fruit black, round, about 1 cm.
