Plum-fruited Yew, Chilean Miro         Prum-NO-pit-ees an-DE-nah

• Conifer, evergreen, bushy tree, 25-50 ft (7.5-15 m) tall, dense crown, often with a crooked trunk.   Leaves linear, 10-25 mm long and about 2.5 mm wide, soft, flexible, often curved or twisted, bright green above, 2 pale green stomatal lines below, apex pointed but not prickly, base rounded.  Male pollen cones in clusters of 5-20, white tinged yellow.  Seed cones (fruit), 1-4 on an axis 2-3 cm long, each ovoid, 15-20 mm long, pale green, ripening dark purple.
• Sun or light shade.
