- Conifer, evergreen tree, 40 ft (12 m) tall in its habitat, but only 25 ft (7.6 m) in cultivation. Needles blue or blue-green, becoming dark green, 1-2 cm long and 1 mm wide, stiff. Cones 5-16 cm long, cylindrical, brown.
