- Deciduous vine, 30-40 ft (9-12 m). Leaves alternate, simple, 5-10 cm wide, 3-lobed, (tricuspidata: three pointed, the leaves), acuminate and coarsely serrated lobes, (smaller leaves may have 3 leaflets), glossy dark green in summer, turning red and scarlet in fall. Short tendrils with terminal adhesive disks. Bluish black berries.
- Sun to full shade. Withstands trying city conditions.
