Ogon Holly Osmanthus, Ogon Osmanthus oz-MAN-thus het-er-o-FIL-us
- Broadleaf evergreen shrub, forms a broad mound or pyramid, wider than tall, slow growing.
New leaves uniformly bright, waxy yellow, gradually becoming chartreuse by midsummer and green by winter
and dark green the next season. Leaves have 12-14 spines, alternating pointing up or down.
- Part shade. Protect from hot sun, drying winds and pollution.
- Hardy to USDA Zone 6.
- Ogon: "yellow gold" in Japanese.
