- Deciduous tree to 20 ft (6 m), upright. Flowers yellow, 7-12 cm across, with 10-16 tepals (petals).
- Sun to part shade.
- Hardy to USDA Zone 4 Originated by P. Savage, Blooming Hills, Michigan, from a cross of M. acuminata 'Fertile' × M. denudata 'Sawada's Cream'); it was introduced in about 1988 and patended in 1991 (PP7456). Flowers are dark yellow and appear before the leaves (Jacobson, 1996). Some have called the flower color a "delicate yellow" and heat reportedly will lighten the color.
