Hydrangea paniculata Angel Blush® (syn. 'Ruby')
Angel Blush Hydrangea hi-DRAN-je-a pan-ik-u-LA-ta
- Broadleaf, deciduous shrub, medium-sized but may reach 8-12 ft (2.4-3.6 m) high and 6-10 ft (1.8-3 m) wide.
The showy sterile flowers are white but turn pinkish and then rosy-red by late summer and fall.
- Sun to part shade, best in rich, well-drained, moist soil.
- Hardy to USDA Zone 4 'Ruby' was a seeding of 'Pink Diamond' selected by
Jelena de Belder in Belgum in 1992 and patened in 1999 (PP10,751) and assigned to Monrovia Nursery which also
holds its trademark name, Angel Blush (1997). 'Pink Diamond' was a seedling of 'Unique' and it in
turn was seedling of 'Floribunda'.
