Daphne ´ burkwoodii 'Carol Mackie' Thymelaeaceae
Carol Mackie Burkwood Daphne DAF-ne berk-WOOD-e-i
- Semi-evergreen shrub, 2-3 ft (0.6-0.9 m), erect, compact habit. Leaves are variegated (with cream-edged margins), narrow. Flowers 13 mm across, white to light pink, in dense 5 cm terminal cultures.
- Zone (4) 5 Sun to part shade. Useful in shrub boarders and foundation plantings.
- Daphne
´ burkwoodii is from a cross between D. cneorum and D. caucasica. Mrs. Carolyn Brett (formerly Carol Mackie) discovered the "Carol Mackie mutation" of the hybrid in her New Jersey garden.
