- Evergreen conifer, fast growing to 25 ft tall x 8 ft wide (7.6 x 2.4 m), pyramidal form, dense green foliage in flat sprays.
- Sun or very light shade. May be used as a wind break.
- Hardy to USDA Zone 5 According to Jacobson (1996, p. 178) it originally came from Britain and probably renamed for marketing purposes. Introduced by Monrovia in 1992 and given the cultivar name Moncal and the trademarked name of Emerald Isle.
