Eddie's White Wonder Dogwood         KOR-nus

• Broadleaf deciduous tree, to 40 ft (12 m), dense habit, drooping, sometimes asymmetrical, correct by pruning.   Leaves rather large, 20 × 15 cm, good red fall color.  True flowers, which are sterile, form a small, spherical cluster which is surrounded by 4-6 large, rounded, and overlapping white bracts; a entire blossom may be over 10 cm across.
• Part shade.  Best in well-drained, acid soils high in organic matter.
• Hardy to USDA Zone 7     A cross of C. florida × C. nuttallii which was originated by nurseryman Henry M. Eddie of Vancouver, British Columbia.   Commecially propagated since 1955, patented in 1964 (PP2413) (Jacobson, 1996).
