- Evergreen shrub, 5 x 5 ft (1.5 x 1.5 m) tall and wide, upright. Leaves, opposite, simple, oblong-lanceolate, 3-10 cm long, aromatic (pine fragrance), gray-green, pubescent below. Flowers large white, to 7 cm, yellow center, basal yellow spot on each petal, blooms in spring/early summer.
- Full sun, well-drained site, drought tolerant. Reportedly deer resistant.
