- Conifer, evergreen shrub/tree, droopy mound, ragmop at first, 6-8 ft (2-2.5 m), finally 40-50 ft (12-15 m) high !!, broadly-conical,
loose, fine textured. Branchlets thin, filamentous, cord-like, pendulous, needles in
opposing pairs, gray-green, white on inside. Fruits only occasionally.
- The dwarf form, Filifera Nana, is more likely suitable for home landscaping.
- Hardy to USDA Zone 4 Species introduced in about 1861 from Japan by
Robert Fortune.
