- Broadleaf evergreen shrub, compact, mounding, slow growing, to 2-4 ft tall and 3-5 ft wide (0.6-1.2 m × 0.9-1.5 m), Leaves opposite, simple, small, obovate, medium green, to about 1.5 cm long, retain green color in winter.
- Sun to part shade. Best in moist, sandy loam. Easy to control size my pruning. Reportedly shows good resistance to the three main insect pests of boxwoods (boxwood leaf miner, boxwood mite and psyllids). Very winter hardy.
- Hardy to USDA Zone 4 Originated at the Scarff Nursery, New Carlisle, Ohio. May be more than one clone in nursry commerce.
