Patty has worked in the area of nutrition for 25 years. She started her dietetics career managing the nutrition department in a small hospital in Yreka, California. In 1990, she married and moved to Klamath Falls to work at the hospital covering clinical areas and specializing in diabetes education. In 2000, she shifted career directions and became a professor for Extension Service. She works to link resources between the University and the community to "advance knowledge, policies and practices that enhance the lives, health and environment of Oregonians." She currently teaches community classes on nutrition, diabetes and health. Patty also coordinates the SNAP-Ed program which helps limited resource youth and adults learn how to eat healthy on a budget. She considers it a privilege to serve the residents of Klamath County as champion for disease prevention and health promotion. You'll often find her outside enjoying the beautiful landscapes of Klamath with her husband and two teenagers.

Stacey relocated to the Klamath Basin in June of 2009. She became a substitute teacher for the Tulelake School District and found that she enjoyed teaching and wanted to pursue it further. Stacey began working for Oregon State University Extension Office in February of 2010. She is currently an Instructor and coordinator for the Oregon Family Nutrition Program, teaching low-income families and youth. Her pastimes include traveling, the outdoors, sustainable living and spending time in her new community. Stacey graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Health and Community Services, California State University, Chico.

Jamie has been a Registered Dietitian for 5 years and has worked with OSU Extension for the past 3 years.  She is new to Klamath County, moving here with her husband in July 2011.  She spent the 5 years before that in Central Oregon, part of which she spent as an Instructor teaching nutrition education for the OSU Extension OFNP program for Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson Counties.  Before coming to Oregon she went to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo for her bachelors degree in nutrition and her Dietetic Internship.  Her passion focuses around helping people take small steps toward a healthier lifestyle.  She sees Klamath's local food system playing a crucial role in providing healthy foods to all people in the area.  She is an avid vegetable gardener and is determined to master the skills to grow food well in our climate!  How does she feel about moving to Klamath Falls?  She has quickly fallen in love with the beautiful area and the genuine people, and has every intention of staying awhile and promoting Klamath pride!

Karen joined the OSU Nutrition staff as an Education Program Assistant in March 2010.  Karen retired from teaching after 32 years with Klamath County School District.  She treasured the years spent in the classroom.  Her commitment to teaching the whole child led her to the Nutrition Education program and she found her joy in learning with children reborn.  Karen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education (K-9), with 100+ hours in continuing education in all areas of educational method and curriculum.  She and her husband, Tom, have 3 grown children.  Her love of the natural beauty of the Klamath Basin finds her hiking with her two dogs daily.  The many resources and capable staff that can be found at Klamath Basin Research Center make every day a learning experience!

Trisha is married with 2 sons. She relocated to the Klamath Basin in November 2004 from Hillsboro, OR. She became very involved in volunteering at her sons school and at OSU Extension Center. She has been very active with the Master Gardeners and Master Food Preservers. Having served on the Board of Directors for the Master Gardener Association as Treasurer for 3 years.   She enjoys gardening, cooking, food preserving, being in the woods, scuba diving and traveling.  She is very interested in sustainable living and emergency preparedness. Trisha  began working for Oregon State University Extension Office in February of 2011. She is currently Volunteer Coordinator and a Nutrition Education Program Assistant, teaching low-income families about nutrition and how to stretch their food dollars. Trisha graduated with honors from a Travel Academy in Santa Barbara, Ca and spent 20 magnificent years in the travel field working for an Airline and as a Corporate Travel Consultant which allowed her the opportunity to travel the World.

Laurie joined OSU Extension in June, 2012. She is excited to be part of an amazing team in Klamath Falls as well as being part of the "Generating Rural Opportunities for Weight-Healthy Kids and Communities" (GROW HKC) team with members in in Klamath, Columbia, and Clackamas counties. Laurie comes to OSU via the high-tech world of the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland State University's Applied Linguistics department, and she has spent time over the past 10 years developing a U-Pick farm and education center in rural Fort Bidwell, California - an ongoing project. Trained as an OSU Master Gardener, she has worked with school and community gardens for 20 years, and taught English as a Second Language for immigrant and refugee families in gardens in Portland. She loves growing and eating healthy food, spending time observing nature, bicycling, art, reading, and connecting with people. She feels at home under the big skies of the High Desert and is thankful every day for the many opportunities it offers.
