Programs and Initiatives

We build partnerships with community, agency, and nongovernmental organizations, P-12 schools, and community colleges to address the educational, economic, social issues and needs of our communities. We organize and collaborate with on and off campus units and student organizations to deliver programs in communities and schools and bring elementary, middle, and high school students from around the state and out of state to campus. This is an opportunity for a chance to learn about higher education, familiarize them with the OSU campus, admissions, financial aid, academic departments/majors, housing, resources, and support services.

Graduation and Transition

ISS Collaborates with OSU departments and many student organizations across campus to create transition workshops and end of the year celebrations for students completing their experience here at Oregon State University.

Overseas Experience for Graduate Students

The Transatlantic Symposium is a combined German-American-European group activity that engages graduate level students in intercultural dialogue around research topics that are of contemporary social, cultural, and political relevance via an interdisciplinary approach. The symposium offers students the opportunity to participate in a short term study abroad program that allows meaningful dialogue with a cohort of students from international backgrounds. Students create for themselves productive group dynamics that create a working cultural exchange. By integrating practical components and research interests, the symposium provides students with an introduction to possible careers in diplomacy, politics, cultural works, academia and consulting.
