Ten Research Fellows invited to Center for 2000-01

The Center has awarded 10 residential research fellowships for 2000-01, including six to Oregon State University faculty members, and the remainder to scholars from Midwest and Eastern universities, including one to an Associate Fellow. Associates receive an office and support services but no stipend. The group includes the Center's second Senior Fellow, a category created a year ago to ensure the presence of a mature scholar. The Senior Fellow also helps select the research theme for the year; "After the American Century," next year's theme, was chosen by Paula Rabinowitz. While external fellows are selected, in part, on the relevance of their research projects to the theme, fellows from OSU may apply for projects dealing with the humanities in general.

Fellows receive a stipend as well as office, computer, and support services. The competition for 2001-02 will be announced later this spring.
