Located on the second floor of Strand Agriculture Hall, the UHC Seminar room has a white board and a conference table with 14 chairs. This space is ideal for thesis defenses.

General Information

  • This room is not supported by Media Services. Our personnel can assist you with set-up if you schedule an appointment in advance.
  • If you plan on having class presentations please have students set up an appointment to try classroom technology out before their presentation.
  • We have a PC compatible laptop, DVD/VHS player, and document imaging camera (high tech overhead projector) available for check-out.
  • Please schedule a time in advance to your event to try out the equipment you plan to use; whether ours or yours, each configuration has a learning curve.

The University Honors College main office provides support for all aspects of our teaching and learning space. Stop by our office in STAG 229 or contact us at 737-6432 or honors.college@oregonstate.edu if you need:

Room Reservations: reserve STAG 233 or 237.
Technology Orientation: a brief overview of the technology available and hands-on orientation. Focuses on your specific needs.
Technical Support: help setting up and/or controlling the technology.

LCD Display Monitor: Displays media connected through the conference table
PC Laptop: Check out at the UHC main office or you may provide your own. Please remember that all systems react differently in this room. Test your laptop before you plan to present.
Document Imaging Camera: Check out at the UHC main office.
DVD/VHS Player: located in the kitchenette in the far left cupboard.
Wireless connectivity.
NO telephone jack.

Instructions

PC Laptop:

  • Flip up silver metal panel closest to the door and LCD panel.
  • Make sure power strip is on.
  • Plug the cord with the blue end into laptop.
  • Turn on LCD panel with the remote.
  • Turn on laptop and log in.
  • Once logged in your display will show up on the LCD panel.
  • Plug in backup power if needed.
  • “Input” type on LCD panel: Analog.

Document Imaging Camera:

  • Flip up silver metal panel closest to the door and LCD panel.
  • Make sure power strip is on.
  • Plug the cord with the blue end into the camera.
  • Turn on LCD panel with the remote.
  • Turn on the camera.
  • “Input” type on LCD panel: Analog.

DVD/VHS Player:

  • Flip up silver metal panel closest to the door and LCD panel.
  • Make sure power strip is on.
  • Plug the red, yellow and white cords to their corresponding “Out” holes in the DVD/VHS player.
  • Turn on LCD panel with the remote.
  • Turn on the DVD/VHS player.
  • Insert movie/ video.
  • “Input” type on LCD panel: Video.

Tips

  1. If you plan on having class presentations please have students set up an appointment to try classroom technology out before their presentation.
  2. Make sure to log off all equipment when done.
  3. Sign up for a Technology Orientation prior to your first class.
