Coming from the Netherlands, Marloes Bakker understands the international nature of water policy. She's studying cooperative water resource management as a tool for balancing competing international interests.

Chelsea Byrd
Dr. Chelsea Byrd
Dr. Chelsea Byrd, a 2005 OSU doctoral recipient, learned recently that she was among five finalists for the CGS/UMI Distinguished Dissertation Award. Her doctoral research has played a major role in identifying a very promising candidate for a smallpox anti-viral drug.

Meghan Barp
Meghan Barp
As part of her master's research, Meghan Barp went to New York City to interview women leaders of non-profit organizations. While she was there, she secured a $3.4 million grant for an inner-city YWCA youth project.

Electronic Thesis Project
Working with the staff of OSU Libraries, the Graduate School has developed a process for students to submit their theses electronically. Not only will this save time and money, but it will make students' research much more accessible to other scholars.

Bridge to the Future Fund
Thanks to your generosity, we recently provided emergency support to one more student—a master's degree candidate in chemistry—through the Irma Delson Bridge to the Future Fund. This is the third $500 award issued since last April, and a fourth is expected to be issued in late February.
