The Center for Academic Success is an excellent resource for graduate students to make the most of their education. The center's web site contains information on time management, study skills, coping with stress, learning styles, developing a strong relationship with your advisor, and much more.

Associated Students of Oregon State University

The Associated Students of Oregon State University (ASOSU) provides a forum to address important issues facing our campus community. This link contains information about ASOSU, the Graduate Student Senate, various committees and task forces, as well as a special subsidy program administered through ASOSU to provide funding for graduate students to attend professional conferences in their field.

Athletics Ticket Office

107 Gill Coliseum, 737-4455/800-GO-BEAVS

See the Beavers in PAC-10 action! Every Monday morning of the week of a home game, students can bring their valid Student ID to the ticket office to receive their free ticket for that week's game. The Beavers Ticket Office is located in room 107 of Gill Coliseum.

Bookstore

Memorial Union, 737-4323

OSU Bookstore is a nonprofit corporation that has been serving Oregon State University and the town of Corvallis since 1914. As a non-profit corporation, profits are returned up front in the form of sales discounts. Search the website for textbooks, Beaver apparel, general books, electronics, and more.

Business Affairs - Student Finance

At Student Finance and Cashiers, you can ask questions about your billing statement, pay your bill in person or apply for an emergency loan. Payments can also be made online, by mail or at one of our drop boxes in Kerr Administration or the OSU Bookstore.

Career Services

As a "gateway to the future," Career Services provides resources for students and alumni to achieve their professional goals through job fairs, the Beaver Recruiting Program, career counseling, workshops, internship opportunities, and job-hunting tools. Career Services also posts student employment information for positions on and off campus.

Child Care Services & Programs

Oregon State University recognizes the importance of quality childcare information and services for university families. This link contains information on the two childcare centers operating at OSU, preschool and kindergarten programs, as well as a listing of other local childcare resources.

Craft Center

Express your creativity, and get a little relief from academic stress! Located in Snell Hall, the Craft Center at OSU offers courses and materials to explore pottery, photography, woodworking, glass mosaics, fiber arts, jewelry, and more.

Community and Diversity

OSU believes that diversity enhances education for all students, providing the tools to be culturally respectful, professionally competent, and civically responsible. The Office of Community and Diverity offers consulting, education, training and development services to promote cultural diversity, awareness, and sensitivity throughout the campus community. OSU's cultural centers give students an opportunity to learn about issues of culture, heritage, history, identity and self-expression in an atmosphere of positive engagement and mutual respect.

Computing Facilities

This website provides information about the location and hours of campus computer labs, lab guidelines, available software and operating systems, and various services such as assistance with POOLE or your student ONID account.

Computer Helpdesk

OSU Computer Helpdesk provides technical support to OSU students, staff, and faculty. They are a "quick help" service and are happy to help troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.

Conduct & Community Standards

The Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards assists students with management of their relationships with the institution and enforces student conduct regulations through the student conduct review process.

Counseling Services

University Counseling and Psychological Services provides a variety of services to help students address the challenges and difficulties they face. These services are designed to help students understand themselves better, create and maintain satisfying relationships, improve their academic performance, and make healthy and satisfying career and life choices.

Directory of OSU Faculty, Staff, and Students

111 Snell Hall/MU East

The campus phone directory includes names, addresses and phone numbers of students, faculty and staff. All students are listed in the directory unless they go to the registrar's office and fill out a form to request otherwise. Directories are distributed around campus in late November each year. The OSU campus online directory is also useful.

Disability Access Services

The Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) offers an array of services to students with documented disabilities, and assists faculty, staff and other members of the OSU community with access consultation and accommodation requests. Services include, but are not limited to, note taking, sign language interpreting, real-time transcribing, alternative testing, transcribing and captioning media for accessibility, and conversion of text into Braille, digital text and tactile images. Assistance with registration, disability-related housing needs and access to OSU community events is also available. Two scholarships for students with physical disabilities are offered through SSD.

E-mail - ONID & Blackboard

Student can set up e-mail at any computer by going to the ONID-OSU Network ID site . You will need your OSU ID and GAP. Consultants in the Milne Computing Center are available if you need assistance. Many OSU instructors use Blackboard to communicate with their classes. You will need to set up your ONID account to access Blackboard.

Health Services

Students have access to a wide variety of health care services and extensive health promotion programs. This website also contains important information on health insurance options, family planning services, vaccinations, and more.

ID Center

Your OSU student identification card is needed for identity and privilege verification on campus. It functions as a meal card, library card and access card. OSU Card Cash turns your card into a debit card for purchases at all campus dining locations, coffee shops and convenience stores and for copying at the library. For more information on depositing funds to your card, managing your card account online through My Card or on what your ID card does for you, check out the ID Center website: ID Center

Involvement

The Office of Student Involvement directly supports fee-funded student organizations with their leadership and organizational development and their event planning. Student Involvement also supports student organization events through the Cultural Meal Support program. LGBT Outreach & Services

The Office of LGBT Outreach & Services provides resources, referrals and advocacy for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and allied (LGBTQQIA) communities at OSU. It is also the advising unit for LGBTQQIA student groups, clubs and organizations, including the OSU Pride Center.

The Valley Library

The Valley Library is OSU's main library branch, providing support to meet the informational, reference, and research needs of the faculty, staff, and students through the library's collection of more than 1.4 million volumes, 14,000 serials, and more than 500,000 maps and government documents. This link will take you to the OSU Libraries page designed especially for graduate students, including resources on research assistance, interlibrary loans, technology resources, and study spaces.

Memorial Union

Considered the living room of the campus, the Memorial Union houses a coffee shop, fast food and sit-down restaurants, and a recreation center with bowling, billiards and video games. It is also the home of the MU Program Council (MUPC), which sponsors a variety of events, movies, concerts and more. In the MU you can find e-mail stations, ATMs, a convenience store, the OSU Bookstore, and a US Post Office. Contact the MU Business Office (Room 216) to rent a personal mailbox. MU Programs can help you get connected to more than 300 student groups or can even help you start your own club.

Multimedia Services

The Valley Library, 2nd Floor, 737-3332

The Graduate Student Multimedia Presentation Center (GSMPC) is a graduate student-run, multimedia user laboratory. Its primary mission is to provide multimedia facilities, equipment, and technical support for OSU graduate and professional students producing and presenting academic work. This can be for, but not limited to, conferences, defenses, departmental seminars and independent research. Specific services include equipment loan, poster printing, multimedia support and video editing.

Online Services

Register for classes online, change your pin number, display your grades, receive your account summary, view holds, view transcripts, view or update your address. Online Services includes your personal financial aid & scholarship information to check your award and scholarship status. View academic progress, check outstanding document requirements, review awards and award history, view your academic transcript, and verify enrollment and degrees.

Parking

This link contains information on campus parking permits, locations of student and visitor lots, payment of parking tickets, campus shuttles, and alternative & shared transportation options.

Recreational Sports

Dixon Recreation Center, 737-3748

Dixon Recreation Center, Stevens Natatorium, the Outdoor Recreation Center, and the Indoor Climbing Center are student-fee funded facilities available to students with a valid OSU ID. These facilities, plus the tennis courts, McAlexander Fieldhouse, and the outdoor playing fields are open for recreational use over 100 hours a week. Non-credit courses are offered in aquatics, fitness, safety, outdoor, and experiential education.

Saferide

25 Snell Hall, MU East, 737-5000

Saferide is a service dedicated to assault prevention, providing education and safe transportation to OSU students. Funded entirely through student fees, Saferide provides nightly van service seven days a week with the last pick-up from the Valley Library at 1 a.m. For more information, call 737-5000.

Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS)

500 Snell Hall, 737-7604

SASS offers support, information and counseling for female and male survivors of unwanted sexual contact and interpersonal violence. Services are confidential and free for OSU students. We also provide consultation for those seeking information about how to help a survivor. Please feel free to call for more information about our services.

Theatre

The University Theatre belongs to all OSU students, and auditions are open to everyone. Typically, we produce three plays on our Main Stage and two in the Lab Theatre, with additional works directed and supported by students in the Lab Theatre. Work/study and student jobs are available at the University Theatre.

Women's Center

The Oregon State University Women's Center, established in 1973, offers learning experiences that help women transform themselves and society. Its educational programs reflect the diverse views of women from all walks of life. The center provides advocacy, support, programs, resources, and opportunities to translate concerns into action.

Writing Center

The Writing Center is a relaxed, friendly place where you can get responses from other writers to any kind of writing. Writing assistants can help you with writer's block, preparing class presentations, and organizing, developing, and revising your papers. In addition to face-to-face sessions, the Writing Center offers two on-line services: WritingQ, a grammar hotline for brief questions of mechanics and citation; and the On-line Writing Lab, a service for submitting papers over the internet. Best of all, every service offered by the center is free!
