Western Interstate
Commission for Higher Education
Western Regional Graduate Program
The Western Interstate Commission for
Higher Education (WICHE) was established more than 40 years ago to promote the sharing of
higher education resources among the western states. One of the programs established by
WICHE to meet this goal is the Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP.)
WRGP makes many high-quality graduate programs available to WICHE-state students at a
reasonable cost. Residents of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada,
New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming are eligible
to enroll at resident rates of tuition in designated WRGP graduate programs in these 14
states. There is no requirement that students meet financial aid criteria.
At Oregon State University, the graduate degree programs listed below participate in WICHE´s
Western Regional Graduate Program:
Design and Human Environment (MA, MS, PhD) http://www.hhs.oregonstate.edu/dhe/
Human Development and Family Studies (PhD) http://www.hhs.oregonstate.edu/hdfs/
Marine Resource Management (MA, MS) http://www.coas.oregonstate.edu/mrm/
Ocean Engineering (MOcE) http://ccee.oregonstate.edu/civil/
Civil Engineering (with emphasis in ocean engineering - MS, PhD) http://ccee.oregonstate.edu/civil/
Nuclear Engineering Engineering (MS, PhD) http://ne.oregonstate.edu/
Oceanography (MA, MS, PhD) http://www.coas.oregonstate.edu/
Radiation Health Physics (MS, PhD) http://ne.oregonstate.edu/
Toxicology (MS, PhD) http://www.emt.orst.edu/
To be eligible for WICHE graduate student status at OSU, students must meet all criteria
for graduate admission at Oregon State University, must be a resident of one of the participating
states, and must apply to and be accepted in one of the graduate programs listed above. Included
with your application materials should be your request to be considered for WICHE eligibility.
WICHE status will permit you to pay instructional costs (tuition only) at the in-state rather
than the non-resident rate. Please coordinate your request for inclusion as a WICHE Western
Regional Graduate Program student with your program of interest.

Commission for Higher Education home page at http://www.wiche.edu .
