Student comments about their experiences in Santander Spain

The program is great, Madeline has been super helpful and caring.
Manolo is a great teacher and he uses a system which at first was
dificult to use but once we got the hang of it, it has made learning
grammar much easier and gives us the ability to refer back to prior
lessons, his teaching style is a bit of the wall but effective. My
family is great they are nice, and helpful, iterested in my life and
just like my mom back home Alicia is sure to give me motherly advice
all the time. lol, She is a great cook and my (brother and sister) are
great for practicing spanish with. Playa Somo is the best place ever
and the surfing is great! Picos was a blast and we got into a fierce
snowball fight. Mark Budnik has pictures of it up on thefacebook. if
you all want to see....

This program is pretty cool. Manolo is wonderful and I feel like I´ve
learned so much in such a small amount of time. But it´s not a vacation
and i do have to study, read and do homework; but it is pretty chill
compared to OSU. (However, I still have finals to do, so maybe I
shouldn´t say that just yet.) Esther is funny and really gets our
conversation class laughing, sometimes we get into tense topics but she
controls it wonderfully and usually keeps it light-hearted. Santander
is a chill town. There are beautiful beaches and lots of fun bars and
cafes. If you want to travel it´s pretty close to other touristy beach
towns and it has a small airport from which you can fly to most of
Europe and other parts of Spain. However, it´s not as cheap as one
would think to fly around Europe or even Spain, if people are thinking
about traveling while they´re here, plan ahead. My host-mom is
wonderful and we totally get along, but according to some other
stories, I lucked out and I´m so happy about that.
Adios,
