Lodging Options for the Cine-Lit VII International Conference:

Cine-Lit VII has made exclusive arrangements for its participants at the Hotel Modera in downtown Portland.  Those of you who have attended previous Cine-Lit Conferences might remember The Portland Inn and/or The Days Inn.  That building has been extensively renovated and renamed the Hotel Modera.  It is a very short walk to both the Smith Center on the Portland State University campus where most of Cine-Lit’s sessions will be held, and to the theaters that will screen the Portland International Film Festival’s movies.  We are delighted to have the Hotel Modera as our center of operations.

The Hotel Modera has reserved a block of rooms for Cine-Lit VII participants.  However, all participants must make their own reservations and must do so at least one month before the conference in order to receive the conference rate:  $99 + tax.  This is an excellent price and we encourage you to take advantage of it.  There are also some rooms with two beds for anyone wishing to economize.

Travel & Transportation:

All Cine-Lit VII participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements.  Almost all major airlines have flights to Portland (PDX).

There is a very convenient light-rail service from PDX to downtown Portland.  A one-way ticket costs $2.50.  Once downtown, it is a short bus or MAX (light rail) ride to the Modera Hotel.  All public transportation in downtown Portland is free.

There is also taxi and shuttle bus service direct to downtown.  The Bluestar bus service (telephone: 503-249-1837) costs $14.00 per person.  Taxi fees are $30 - 40.00.
