The airports that serve travelers to Corvallis are located in Portland and Eugene. By far the most convenient option is Eugene, about a 40-minute drive from the Oregon State University campus. The road time is similar to what attendees experienced at the 2007 Denver conference. The Eugene airport is served by Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Air, Delta, United, and US Airways. The Portland airport is served by a larger number of national and international carriers and fares tend to be lower, but the trip to Corvallis is quite a bit longer. The Portland airport has ground transportation operated by Hut's Shuttle with service to Corvallis every 90 minutes. Eugene is currently served by OmniShuttle, a shared-ride service that offers significant cost savings for multiple passengers traveling on the same reservation. Car rentals are also available at both airports. Taxi service from Portland would not be economically feasible for most travelers. One final transportation option that may be attractive to some is the Amtrak Coast Starlight that runs between Los Angeles and Seattle. The nearest stop to the OSU campus is in Albany, Oregon, which is about a 10-mile cab ride from Corvallis.
The official conference hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn, located across the street from the university's conference center on the south edge of campus. For information and reservations, visit the Hilton Garden Inn / LASSO web site .
If you don't require a room close to the conference site, you may wish to stay at a downtown location or in one of the local B&B establishments. A complete list may be found at the Corvallis Tourism web site.
