In keeping with our theme, we are pleased to announce that the keynote speaker for the 2008 meeting will be James Crawford, well-known expert on the politics of language. Crawford's presentation on the evening of October 18, 2008 will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Austin Auditorium in the LaSells Stewart Center and will be open to the public.
This year's conference includes presentations on a wide range of theoretical and applied topics, including theme-related sessions on indigenous languages, language policies, and a SIG session on making connections beyond the academic community.
