I was born and raised on an Iowa family farm where I milked cows by hand, raised pigs and did general farm work. I participated in many FFA activities like reciting the creed, extemporaneous speaking, parliamentary procedure team, showing livestock at fairs and local chapter offices.
I graduated from the State College of Iowa in 1966 (later the University of Northern Iowa) with a BA in chemistry with a teaching degree. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1970 with an MA in biochemistry. |
I taught high school chemistry in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Waunakee, WI for 3 years in each location.
I worked as a product manager for West Agro Chemical Company from 1974 to 1979 in Kansas City, Kansas.
I joined Ecolab Inc in 1979 and worked with them until I retired in April of 2011. I held positions in marketing, sales management, Corporate accounts, training and technical support. The last 4 years I did training in the CIP of all dairy equipment, food safety, quality milk production and cleaners and sanitizers for new Ecolab Inc. employees.
My hobbies include enjoying our four grandsons, old and new movies, coin collecting and general improvements around the house.
I have been married to my wife Mary Anne for 45 years and we have two children Lisa and Eric.
My primary industry goal is to make people aware of the potential risks to food quality and safety during production and sanitation. |
