Alternative Transportation
ALTERNATIVE & PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
OSU encourages those who live near campus to consider alternative forms of transportation to get to their classes and jobs. Choosing alternative transportation, even once a week, is good for you and better for the environment. Walking and Biking
Walking and biking provide a number of benefits including:
- Lower transportation costs
- Health and fitness benefits
- No stress about available parking
- Cleaner air
- Less traffic congestion

BIKE LOCKERS ARE AVAILABLE FOR RENT. For information on the bike lockers, click here .The bike lockers are located north of Ballard Extension Hall, east of 26th St.
Public Transit
Corvallis Transit, Philomath Connection, Albany Transit and Linn-Benton Loop bus systems provide an excellent and convenient public transit system. Ride for free by showing your valid OSU ID card. Visit the links below for service, routes and park and ride locations.
General public Aparatransit bus service is available at low cost through Dial A Bus . A late night bus service is offered by Beaver Bus.
Students attending night classes around campus can get a ride from the ASOSU Saferide Van. The van operates seven days a week during the regular school year (Fall, Winter and Spring terms.) You can contact Saferide about pick-ups by calling the van service at 737-5000 or visit the website for more information.
Carpooling and Vanpooling
If you drive to campus, consider sharing a ride with classmates or friends. If you are looking for a carpool or vanpool, visit the sites listed below for ways to contact others in your area.
The Hut Shuttle, AMTRAK, We Car and Greyhound including Valley Retriever are also available alternative transportation options.
Athletics
OSU Transit & Parking Services encourages Beaver fans to use alternate forms of transportation on game days. If you live near campus, consider walking or biking to the game. If you live in Corvallis, consider taking public transit (it is free with a student or staff ID card.) Also, free downtown and fairgrounds shuttles are available for those who wish to go to the home games at Reser Stadium. Check out the Athletics website for more information.
Events
If visiting OSU for a conference or other event, please contact the host department in advance to find out if transportation or Event Parking has been arranged. If not, 'pay and display' stations are located throughout campus and permits may be purchased at the Information Booth located on Jefferson St between 11th & 15th St. The cost of a daily permit is $7.00 for the day or $1.00 an hour up to a maximum of four hours. Visitors may park in student and visitor lots only for the date of purchase. You may also use the OSU campus shuttle described above.
