Butterflies, butterflies, butterflies - and moths
The theme for this week is flying animals. Here are a few butterflies to
start:
Have you seen butterflies? Maybe you've learned how they grow
from an egg
to a caterpillar
to
a pupa
(or chrysalis - sounds like kris-a-less)
(this is an adult making a chrysalis)
to an adult.
Take a look at the US Geological Survey's butterfly
web page for some more great pictures about the butterfly life cycle.
Activities
Easy: Do a Jumbled Sentence
about butterflies.
Easy: Do a grammar exercise
related to butterflies.
Medium: Do a matching exercise
about butterflies. (This will help your grammar, too.)
Medium: Try a fill in the
blank. (This will help your vocabulary.)
Medium: Listen to a talk about butterflies and people who catch them.
Medium: Discuss this question in the discussion forum for this week:
Is it okay to catch butterflies for fun?
Hard: Read and answer questions about butterflies.
Hard: Do a crossword puzzle.
