Technology Seminars and Teacher Training at the ELI
Summer Technology Seminars 2003, July 14-18
For TechSem 2003, we're offering a one-week intensive format from July 14th to 18th with five to six hours per day of instruction and hands-on learning. Topics include:

 Getting Going

Email for Research and Teaching ~
Online Discussion
Teacher Tools: High-end handouts and presentations with Word and PowerPoint
Moving On
Effective Use of CALL Software
Searching the Web for Research and Teaching
Finding and Using Graphics
Exploiting Content Pages
Exploiting ESL/EFL Pages
New Vistas
Creating Web Pages with Netscape Composer
Design Tips for Handouts and Web Pages
Adding Interactivity to Web Pages: Hot Potatoes

You'll work with other teachers and individually on projects to meet your needs. Readings and discussion will be built into the learning, giving you background to help put the current learning into context.

You will go home with a CD-ROM loaded with helpful shareware and freeware, course information, links to good sites, and the projects you and others have created during the session. We'll also have a discussion list set up for you to continue the conversation long after you've headed home!

Tuition and Housing
Tuition for the one-week session is $600, which includes university fees that allow you access to the library and all computing services on campus. University housing is available for approximately $28/day, double occupancy. University housing fills up quickly, so please make sure you let us know as soon as possible if you'd like us to make the arrangements for you. Other housing options are also possible; please contact us at the address below for additional possibilities.

These sessions may be taken for credit. There is an extra fee for credit, payable to Oregon State University. Please let us know if you are interested in taking the sessions for credit.

Payment must be in US funds. We accept checks drawn on US funds, Visa, and MasterCard.
