Course Description

The focus of this course will be on providing classroom strategies and techniques that will allow you to improve your English language skills. Activities will include searching the internet for information, writing evaluations and summaries, viewing video selections, interviewing native speakers, having group discussions and debates and so on. An integrative, communicative approach will be practiced. Also included will be pronunciation exercises and learning American idiomatic expressions.

Course Objectives

To improve listening comprehension, including idiomatic expressions
To improve oral fluency and pronunciation
To review reading comprehension strategies and successful writing organization
To practice techniques that create a learner-centered classroom
To encourage the use of strategies, techniques and approaches that will give optimal language learning results
