The ELI Learning Center

The English Language Institute's state-of-the-art Learning Center is a multi-media lab located in Education Hall, room 406. It is devoted to learning and enhancing English skills. ELI students, OSU students, and community members can access computers, equipment and resources, such as
CD-ROMs,
computer programs,
video tapes,
audio tapes,
DVDs,
and the Internet.
These and other resources such as language learning textbooks, reference works, magazines, and pleasure reading material are available to help students prepare for the TOEFL and improve or enhance their skills in English.
A part of the Learning Center is the ELI's Communication Station, a project funded in part by Oregon State University's Technology Resource Fee grants. ELI and OSU students can work on pronunciation in a self-access setting. Find out more.
One very special aspect of the Learning Center is Open Hours. During Open Hours, the Learning Center is open on a walk-in basis, and all of its materials and equipment are available for use. Also during Open Hours, Writing and Pronunciation assistants are available for one-on-one writing and pronunciation tutoring appointments. To make an appointment, simply come into the Learning Center and sign up. Find out more.
Students at the ELI have many opportunities to interact with students from Oregon State University who work in the Learning Center as computer, writing, or pronunciation assistants.
The Learning Center, its services, equipment, and materials are free for ELI and OSU students. Community members may use the Learning Center during Open Hours for a fee. Find out more.
