Corvallis is within an hour's drive of the Oregon Coast and within two hours of the Cascade Mountain Range. Both day trips and overnights can be arranged.

In the past, some sponsors have included ski trips in winter, crabbing on boats in Newport Bay, hikes near Silver Creek Waterfalls and raft trips on the calm Willamette and the more challenging rivers in the mountains.

Typical Field Trips/Social Events

• Scenic Areas: waterfalls, Newport and the Oregon coast (see the Newport aquarium where Keiko used to live), Mount Hood, the Columbia Gorge, Bend in Central Oregon, and many more.
• Urban centers such as Portland and Eugene for shopping (remember, there is no sales tax in Oregon!)
• Cultural events
• Outdoor activities including picnics, bar-b-ques, hikes, horseback riding, river trips, skiing and snowboarding
• Outdoor festivals in the summer, such as Da Vinci Days with the Kinetic Sculpture Race and the Benton County Fair.
