CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The project team has completed site visits to schools in Corvallis and Lincoln County. We will be visiting schools in Albany in the near future. During our visits we have learned many things about the challenges for both Foreign Language and ESOL teachers but one need has been repeatedly expressed. We have repeatedly heard about the desire to incorporate a cross-cultural component into your programs so that you can reach not only students and parents, but also, the regular classroom teachers.

$2100 of OSU's Eisenhower grant has been designated for cross-cultural training and sharing opportunities in the participating school districts. We have decided to issue a call for proposals so that you can tell us exactly how you would invest in the effort to meet this cross-cultural challenge. The project team will evaluate all requests but only three stipends (one per district) of $500-$1000 will be funded. Individual teachers might want to work with colleagues to combine requests into a single application. A one-page application form will be available at the February 3rd and 4th workshops. The application deadline is March 15, 2000.
