Oregon State University offers courses quarterly (each are 10 weeks long), beginning in September, January, and March. The Department of Economics requests that students begin their graduate program with fall quarter (September) to coincide with the beginning of course sequences. For full consideration of financial assistance, all required documents should be received by February 15.

The Department of Economics requires the general Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test of all applicants.

Oregon State University requires that all international students provide proof of English proficiency. Acceptable forms are:

  • The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination with a minimum score of 575 points (paper),
  • The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination with a minimum score of 230 points (computer),
  • The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination with a minimum score of 80 points (iBT) and a minimum of 20 on each section,
  • The International English Language Testing System (IELTS)examination with a minimum score of 7 points.
