Minority Education Office is committed
to fostering a cultural and
educational environment that will enhance and improve the
academic success
of:
Asian/Pacific American students
American Indian/Alaskan Native students
Latino(a)/Chicano(a) students
African/African American students
The Minority Education Office staff serves the needs of the
OSU student
populations within the African/African American (Ujima),
Latino-a/Hispanic/Chicano-a (Casa Educacional),
Asian/Pacific American, and
Native American (Indian) communities, and are charged with
increasing the
recruitment, retention, and academic performance of these
populations.
The
office provides educational and cultural information to
students, to the OSU
community and surrounding communities. The office serves as
student
advocates; conducts outreach to high schools and community
colleges;
organizes campus-wide cultural events; supports transition
to college;
collaborates with ethnic student organizations; works with
students to
pursue scholarship opportunities; and cultivates student
internships.
