Graduate from a standard or accredited high school
with a Grade-Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.00
Submit SAT I or ACT scores
Meet college preparatory course work requirements
in the following areas:
4 years English
3 years Mathematics, reaching at least the Algebra
II level
3 years Social Studies
2 years of science, one must include a laboratory
section
2 years of the same foreign language
What do I have to score on my GED to qualify
for OSU admission?
Students with a General Education Diploma (G.E.D.)
may be considered with average scores of 58 and no
single score less than 40.

If you do not meet the requirements described above,
do not despair! You can still be admitted based on
special circumstances. For additional information,

Do I need to take foreign
languaje in High School to be admitted into OSU?
Second
Language advising for college admission to Oregon
University System (OUS) institutions
All students
must complete one of the following:
Two years of the same foreign language (French,
German, Spanish etc) in high school. [Two years in
middle school of the same foreign language would equate
to one year of that language in high school.]
A third year high school class of a foreign language
with a C- or better.
Two terms of the same foreign language at an accredited
college or university.
Benchmark/Level IV passing score on the COFLT oral
assessment.
Verification by other recognized national tests,
such as the ACTFL OPI, AP, CLEP, SAT II, etc.
Passing the foreign language placement exam offered
by Brigham Young University.
A complete

BYU list of the 42 languages that can be tested is

Are ESL Classes acceptable English credits that can
be used to meet OSU's admissions requirements?
ESL-English
as a Second Language courses
ESL courses
are usually not considered college preparatory courses.
Therefore for admissions purposes, ESL courses do
not count towards the English requirements. Students
who have not completed the 4 years of non-ESL English
language, literature, speaking, listening and writing
courses may consider these alternatives:

2. Fulfilling
the requirement level of English courses at a Community
College by successfully completing Writing 115 or
higher
3. Demonstrate
proficiency by earning a 1410 total score on three
SAT-II tests (English, Math level I or II and a third
test of choice-the foreign language test is recommended)
Do I need legal documents
from the Immigration and Naturalization Service to
register in OSU?
To register at OSU you will need
one of the following:
- A Permanent Residence Card
- Be a citizen of the United
States of America
- Be an International Student
with a visa authorized from your country of residence.
Do I need to be a United States
Citizen or Permanent Resident to obtain financial aid
from the federal government?
Yes. Only citizens and/or permanent residents of the
United States can receive federal financial aid.
