ADELANTE Leadership Program
The Center for Latino/a Studies and Engagement (CL@SE) and CASA Latina/o de OSU invites you to the launch of the ADELANTE Leadership Program 2012. This program is designed for students who wish to increase their leadership skills and involvement in OSU programs. Today’s employers are looking for people with strong leadership skills and experience in team-work, social engagement, multicultural awareness, and excellent communication skills. ADELANTE is designed to help you develop those skills and become an active part of your community.
We have planned workshops that will be facilitated by community and academic leaders. You will also complete a community service project, and be part of a final proposal that will shape and guide this leadership program in the future. Upon completion of the program’s 10 workshop meetings and two projects, students will receive a certificate and a letter of a recommendation from the CL@SE director and the CASA Latina director.
The topics of the workshops will be varied and may include:
- Identity Development
- Keys to Success
- Social Justice
- Leadership Styles
- Issues in the Latino Community Public Speaking
- Communication Skills/Conflict Resolution
