Peer Mentor Program

Peer Mentor Goals

The overall goal of the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) Peer Mentor Program is student retention. The Peer Mentors play an integral role in helping students adjust socially and academically to college life. Peer Mentors serve an incoming CAMP Scholar by encouraging and supporting their mentees' transition to the university environment.

The CAMP Peer Mentor program's primary goals are to:

  • Improve retention and graduation rates of CAMP scholars.

  • Foster independence.

  • Provide social support.

  • Help students become knowledgeable about academic and community resources.

  • Assist students in transition to university life.
