The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) AmeriCorps program is designed to connect students to migrant youth and the Latino community of Corvallis. The CAMP AmeriCorps program provides students an opportunity to give back to the community, while at the same time earning a scholarship for their service.
Students in the CAMP AmeriCorps program complete 300 hours of service and earn a $1,000 scholarship.
During the 2006-2007 academic year, CAMP AmeriCorps students gave back to the community through their involvement in the following projects or sites: Lincoln Elementary School, Garfield Elementary School, Linus Middle School, OSU Kaleidoscope (November 10 and November 11), OSU SMILE Middle School Challenge (March), OSU SMILE High School Challenge (April), Día del Niño (April), Peace Jam (April 21 and April 22), Festivalito (May 12), OSU Chicanito Tour (May 24), Wildcat Playground Building Project (June 1).
