For OSU staff to establish, conduct and maintain professional relationships with vendors.

Applicability

All Oregon State University (OSU) department employees and Procurement and Contract Services (PaCS) staff who purchase goods and services from vendors on behalf of OSU.

Policy

All OSU employees who are authorized to procure goods and services shall:

1. Conduct business with potential and current suppliers in an atmosphere of good faith, devoid of intentional misrepresentation;
2. Grant all competitive suppliers equal consideration;
3. Demand honesty in sales representation whether offered orally, in writing, an advertisement or a product sample;
4. Decline personal gifts or gratuities from any current or potential supplier of goods or services;
5. Refrain from knowingly engaging in any outside matters of financial interest incompatible with the impartial, objective, and effective performance of duties;
6. Receive written consent from the originator of proprietary ideas and designs before using them; and,
7. Foster fair, ethical and legal trade practices.
