Purpose

To provide information on the scope of the Oregon Public Records Laws as they relate to procurement and contracting.

All employees and contractors of the University.

Background

As a State Agency within the State of Oregon, OSU is subject to the Oregon Public Records Laws.

Policy

Every person has a right to inspect any public record of a public body in the State of Oregon, except as otherwise expressly provided by ORS 192.501 to 192.505.  Records and documents received by OSU from bidders, proposers, vendors, contractors or others are consider public record documents and are open to potential review by interested parties.

Persons or companies interacting and sharing information with the University, except in certain limited cases (bona fide research, trade secrets, etc.), cannot reasonably request or expect the information be kept confidential.
