Purpose

To control the acceptance of gifts and gratuities from vendors or others doing business with or seeking to do business with the University.

Applicability

All University employees who participate in the procurement of goods or services in any manner, or any OSU employee who influences the awarding of business to an OSU vendor.

Background

OSU awards contracts and does business with a variety of local, regional, statewide, national and international companies and organizations.

Policy

Consistent with the provisions of Oregon Revised Statute 244.040, all procurement related personnel will decline personal gifts and gratuities from any current or potential supplier of goods or services to Oregon University System (OUS) or its institutions.  All employees who affect the award of business must do so objectively and without influence.
