Leaves usually opposite (alternate in C. verrucosus, C. megacarpus,
alternate and opposite in some C. insularis specimens), thick, bases
1-veined, stomata on abaxial leaf blade surfaces in cavities surrounded by
pubescence; fruits usually with horns, intermediate valve crests present or
not; inflorescences umbel-like or raceme-like arrangement of umbel-like
clusters.
