Research Project Title: Advancing Robotic Grasping and Manipulation by Learning From Humans Using Human-Robot Interfaces
The long-term goal of this project is to advance Robotic Grasping and Manipulation. On way to do this is by learning from humans through human-robot interfaces. As the human uses the interface to perform tasks with the robot, the interface collects information on the human choices for grasping and manipulation. We will study that data to derive insight into the human method
What skills will students obtain in this project?
Conducting human-subject experiments in human-robot interaction and analyzing the data using machine learning techniques
Student research tasks:
1) Analyze existing grasping data using human-robot interfaces.
2) Conduct new human-robot interaction experiments.
Number of hours per week expected of student: 8--10
