Research Project Title:  Toward the Triple Aim: Improving Patient Experience in Healthcare Delivery

 

Project Overview: 

Oregon is a national “test-bed” for healthcare delivery improvement. To this end, healthcare organizations in the state are working toward the triple aim of

 

 

Dr. Eseonu is working with a local health care organization to apply Industrial Engineering tools such as strategic management, Quality Function Deployment, and Value Stream Mapping, to a local healthcare organization.

 

The specific aims of the project are confidential due to competitive concerns. However, the project uses Industrial Engineering tools to develop strategies for accomplishing the triple aim in a sustainable manner.

 

What skills will students obtain in this project?

 

Student research tasks:

Assist Dr. Eseonu and a graduate student in initial process mapping, value identification and recommendations for improvement.

 

Assist research team with data gathering and analysis

 

Eventually lead process mapping, analysis, and initial recommendations for a portion of field study (under supervision of Dr. Eseonu or a graduate student)

 

Number of hours per week expected of student: 10
