The Department of Art offers several venues for students to view work by nationally and internationally renowned artists, as well as to display their own work. Fairbanks Gallery in Fairbanks Hall brings to campus exhibitions of exciting new faces in the visual arts for the benefit of our students, faculty, and the community.
Fairbanks Hall is also home to the West Gallery, used primarily for OSU student shows. These shows generally change on a weekly basis. Exhibits may be solo, group, or of work by a specific class. This small gallery provides a great opportunity for students to experience what it takes to produce an exhibit. They schedule, design, hang, and publicize the shows on their own. Many of them also schedule a reception for family and friends. On some occasions small, intimate shows by professional artists are also exhibited in West Gallery.
An additional gallery resides in the basement of Fairbanks hall as part of "Art Underground," a vibrant student lounge for OSU Art Majors.
