Jumpstart, Oregon State University’s precollege program in the visual and performing arts, is a learning experience that offers exceptional instruction, challenges high school students with high expectations, and achieves outstanding results. High school students ages 15 to 18, with an increased ability and commitment to the performing and visual arts, are invited to participate in Jumpstart’s three-week summer arts immersion program. Students live and learn on campus in a creative, diverse and supportive environment. A primary Jumpstart focus is to assist each student in the development of a high quality portfolio or body of work that will aide in their application to a university or arts institute of their choosing. Each year two Jumpstart students are awarded scholarships to attend Oregon State University.
