Fine Arts Portfolio Review
FINE ARTS BS/BA/BFA PORTFOLIO REVIEW
WINTER TERM 2010
Admission to the Fine Arts BS/BA/BFA option is selective and competitive. Students seeking consideration must undergo a portfolio review during winter term of their sophomore year. Students must first complete: ART 101, ART 115, ART 117, ART 120, ART 121, ART 122, ART 131, and a minimum of two 200-level studio courses prior to the review. In addition to the portfolio, both GPA and academic performance in other courses will be taken into consideration. (Transfer students should consult with an advisor in the Department of Art before registering for OSU courses). Passing the review allows students to continue their pursuit of a Fine Arts option. Students who are unsuccessful in gaining admission to the Fine Arts program may reapply one more time the following year.
Your portfolio should include:
- 10 pieces of ORIGINAL/ACTUAL ART (no slides or CD) from 100/200-level art courses
- A list of your artwork including media, term/year, course number and instructor's name
- A one-page statement describing your interest in fine arts
- A copy of your current, unofficial transcript
