April 27: The Visiting Artists and Scholars program presents Shimon Attie
Shimon Attie, a New York-based, internationally renowned visual artist, will present and discuss his artwork from early site-specific installations across Europe through his more recent artworks that involve multiple-channel immersive video installations. Drawing upon multiple disciplines, Shimon Attie creates enveloping installations that investigate the relationship between personal memory and collective histories. Recent solo exhibitions include: the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, CT, The Miami Art Museum, The Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, and the De Young Museum in San Francisco.
Shimon Attie will give a public lecture on April 27th at 7:00 pm in the C&E Auditorium of the LaSells Stewart Center. The reception will begin at 6:00 pm.
