AIGA
The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) is the leading
professional association for the advancement of design. As a nationwide
organization with over 22,000 members, AIGA works to demonstrate the
value of good design and empower designers at every stage of their
careers. Visit AIGA’s website to find thousands of articles on art and
design, links to resources such as sample business contracts, a listing
of upcoming conferences and events, job listings and much more.
AIGA is represented at Oregon State by our student group. Join us
weekly to socialize with other local designers, plan fun events both in
Corvallis and Portland, work on building our portfolios and resumés,
and discuss design issues affecting us both locally and nationwide. As
a student member of AIGA, you have access to all of the benefits
available to professional members, at a fraction of the cost. Do
yourself a favor and become an AIGA member today. It looks amazing on
your resumé, and the resources and social networks you’ll have access
to are invaluable.
Contact the AIGA student group president, Jake Baez, at baezj@onid.orst.edu with questions about how you can get involved and find out what events are planned for the 2009/2010 academic year.
