I primarily grew up in Portland, Oregon and graduated from Jesuit High School in Beaverton, OR.  I enlisting into Active Duty in 1991, and spent three years in Germany as a Mechanized Infantryman. 
I graduated from Portland State University with a BS in Criminal Justice and minor in Sociology.  I attended Army ROTC at University of Portland and was commissioned in 1999 into the Oregon National Guard.  I have been called up by the State to assist in forest fires, floods, and even Hurricane Katrina and Rita.  My first deployment took me into the heart of Baghdad, Iraq in 2004 as a company executive officer and battalion Battle Captain.  I received my first command of HHC 2-162 IN, which took me to Japan.  After a successful first command, I was awarded my second command of Delta company 2-162 IN. Shortly after taking command, we were deployed back to Iraq at Al Asad Airbase.
I have been married to my wife Kris for over 15 years and we have two children Nathan and Katy.  My hobbies include boating, swimming, paintball, and shooting.
